About Tug
Tug helps you visualize the pull between what you say matters and how you actually spend your time. By tracking time spent on activities aligned with your values, Tug creates awareness of the gap between stated values and actual behavior.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add a new value?
Go to the Home page, tap "Edit Values", then use the form at the top to add a new value. You can have up to 5 active values.
How does the tug-of-war visualization work?
The tug-of-war shows the tension between your stated importance (left side) and your actual behavior (right side). The knot in the middle will move based on how your time spent compares to community averages.
Can I edit an activity after logging it?
Yes! On the Activities tab, tap on any activity to view details. From there, you can edit or delete the activity.
How is my data stored?
Your data is stored securely in our database. We use Firebase for authentication and MongoDB for storing your values and activities. Your data is not shared with third parties.
What does the community average represent?
The community average is a benchmark based on your value's importance rating to help you understand how your behavior compares to what's expected for that value's importance.
How do I reset my password?
On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password?" and follow the instructions to reset your password via email.
Can I use Tug on multiple devices?
Yes, your data syncs across devices when you sign in with the same account.
Troubleshooting
The app isn't loading or is crashing
Try these steps:
- Close the app completely and reopen it
- Check your internet connection
- Restart your device
- Update the app if a new version is available
- If problems persist, contact support
I'm having trouble logging in
Ensure you're using the correct email and password. If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password?" option on the login screen. If you still can't log in, contact support.
